Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Approve or reject in-process or finished products by performing inspection per the inspection plans or appropriate procedure and recording the findings on the designated quality reports as a result of visual and measurement checks.
- Applies appropriate tags and labels to materials to demonstrate material status and completes disposition information.
- Reject and return non-conforming materials by communicating the required adjustments to production team members and management for re-work and confirm rework was done in accordance with standards.
- Performs data entry into the quality database.
- Maintains measuring equipment in good working condition and calls for necessary repairs and calibration as required.
- Perform first piece and last piece inspections.
- Assist in process capability studies.
- Complete Defective Material Reports (DMR’s) and Material Status Reports for non-conforming materials at the request of production management for vendor supplied material rejections.
- Post and provide information and support to production personnel through Quality Alerts.
- Participates in corrective action activities.
- Evaluate and support activities involving the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process if assigned.
- Utilize statistical methods during quality data collection as required.
- Comply with safety regulations and personnel policy.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- A minimum of six (6) months experience in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to use a tape measure, digital measuring equipment, calipers (dial and digital), angle measuring tools, inspection templates, go/no go gages and lighted inspection equipment.
- Interpret technical documentation such as specifications, drawings, sketches and work instructions
