REPORTS TO: Senior Customer Marketing Manager
PARTNERS WITH:
Division Marketing: (Internal) Brand Marketing Team, Division and Regional Sales Directors, Analytics. (External) designated agencies and wholesaler partners
ROLE SUMMARY:
In the Division Marketing role you will be accountable for developing and communicating channel marketing programs for the entire Phillips branded portfolio in a designated sales division and working to ensure outstanding execution in order to meet or exceed division business objectives. Channel programs will utilize inputs ranging from brand strategy to commercial, shopper, and consumer insights. Your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in this position will be key, as will be your comfort working cross functionally, with Brand Marketing, Sales, NPD, and designated agencies

  • *RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as the bridge between Commercial and Brand Teams for the designated division(s)
  • Assists in the annual strategic planning process - managing planning timelines and helping to align internal Marketing teams, Consumer/Shopper insights, Sales and agency efforts in the delivery of planning presentations and tools to the organization and wholesaler network for annual business planning and POS ordering processes.
  • Works closely with Brand Marketing to adapt National Brand Plans for Region-specific field marketing plans inclusive of ATL and BTL activities relevant to the division
  • Influences commercial resource allocation decisions in partnership with Division Director and Regional Sales for assigned division
  • Guides the appropriate allocation of promotional resources to support field marketing priorities.
  • Responsible for the preparation, support, and implementation of Key National Programs for the Division
  • Works with Brand Marketing and BTL agencies to help recommend and implement comprehensive retail promotional plans for new product introductions and line extensions of existing products, encompassing both package extensions and new product lines
  • As appropriate, establishes the territory media strategy in collaboration with Brand Marketing and Division Director, to identify and implement relevant, local media plans that recruit new consumers and strengthen brand affinity. This may involve regional enhancement of the national media strategies. Work with local teams to ensure “sell-in” of these media plans.
  • Maintains constant and concise communication with Division field sales organization and key wholesalers in the following areas:
  • Retail programming calendars, POS ordering, execution timelines, planning guides, sell sheets, ad-hoc order allocations, etc.
  • Communicates and evaluates the effectiveness of promotional marketing programs via the analysis of sales impact, wholesaler execution and profitability/return on investment of marketing expenditures for select programs to ensure objectives and budgets are being met
  • Communicates program analysis to management with future recommendations.
  • Assists field sales in-market through programming meetings, work withs, surveys, crew drives, distributor trainings, and ongoing in-market needs as appropriate related to the portfolio.
  • Attend all programming meetings in major markets, owning the marketing information that will be presented and working with distributor and sales manager on follow up and implementation
  • Attend Quarterly Business Reviews in major markets – assist in development of information to be presented and presents major initiatives in review meetings

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field preferred; with 5 years’ consumer-focused marketing experience in the beverage alcohol industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated results in trade programs with channel management.
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience managing agency partner relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability, and initiative, to actively learn and adapt in a growing organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications; exceptional interpersonal and collaborative skills; ability to work with “team first” approach.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including E-Mail, Spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Occasional travel required: approx. 25%; attendance at evening and weekend work events, may be required. Valid Driver’s License.
