Summary
We are seeking a skilled Survey Party Chief to oversee and manage survey teams on a variety of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supervising the survey crew, performing surveying tasks, and ensuring the accuracy of the survey data. The Survey Party Chief must be able to effectively communicate with team members, project managers, and clients, and possess strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a survey crew of 2-4 members.
- Coordinate survey work with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct field surveys using various survey equipment including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
- Interpret and analyze survey data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare survey reports and sketches to present to clients and project managers.
- Manage and maintain survey equipment, including calibration, repair, and replacement.
- Maintain accurate and complete survey records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with surveying standards and regulations.
- Train and mentor junior staff members on surveying techniques and equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and techniques.
- Experience using survey equipment including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
- Knowledge of surveying software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
