We have an opening for a Behavior Manager at the PHILLIPS ~ Laurel program.
What the Behavior Manager does:
Working in collaboration with a skilled team of colleagues, BEHAVIOR MANAGERS provide direct service in the form of crisis prevention/ intervention, behavioral counseling, skills development, and behavior program implementation. They also serve as a behavioral resource and support to staff through observation, behavior analysis, program development and consultation regarding behavior management practices. In addition, Behavior Managers:
- Consult with teaching team in the identification and review of student behavior issues and the development of antecedent and function-based interventions.
- Consult with Behavior Specialists/Supervisor in the development of both individual and group behavior management programs.
- Provide ongoing staff training, feedback and recommendations on behavior management practices and programs.
- Assist in making final decisions on student behavior consequences
- Provide crisis prevention in terms of monitoring support area, school building and grounds; direct crisis intervention; student mediations and consultation with Behavior Specialists/Supervisor.
- Interact with students to provide emotional and behavioral counseling, specific skills development, reinforcement, follow through with consequences, behavior consultation, supervision, behavior programming and rules clarification.
- Provide direct services to students in a systematic way as defined by the general and specific behavior programs in the form of reinforcement, skills development, relaxation training, anger management and coping skills.
Qualifications
What the Behavior Manager brings to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education or related field, required
- Experience in crisis prevention/intervention, required
- Experience in applied behavior analysis, functional assessment, positive behavioral supports, behavior programming and behavioral counseling, desired.
