Job Description:
The National Nurse-Led Care Consortium (NNCC) seeks an individual to serve as the organization’s Deputy Executive Director. The Deputy Executive Director will work in concert with the Executive Director to oversee all aspects of the organization. The Deputy Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring the administrative, financial, regulatory, and clinical success of NNCC and for making sure that the organization continues to grow and progress, in terms of overall budget growth, thought leadership, and relationships with funders/regulators. The Deputy Executive Director will place a particular emphasis on oversight of all direct services at NNCC and will be responsible for collaboratively leading NNCC’s varied evidence-based direct service programs. The Deputy Executive Director will serve as a representative of the organization with partners, funders, regulators, PHMC, and the NNCC Board. They are a spokesperson and advocate for public health, nursing, primary care, and preventive initiatives that strengthen family and community well-being. The Deputy Executive Director reports directly to the Executive Director of NNCC and serves as a member of NNCC’s senior leadership team collaborating to build and model a strengths-based nurse- and client-centered culture.
Program Responsibilities:
Designs and implements models of care that address unmet or emerging client/community needs from a solutions-oriented and strengths-based perspective.
Leads development of information systems including data collection and reporting across multiple internal and external databases to inform quality improvement and national, state, and local funding requirements.
Assures implementation of evidence-based home visiting programs in accordance with the national standards and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) home visitation standards, policies, procedures and contract requirements, including data reports, yearly evaluations, and federal evaluations.
Promotes positive parenting behaviors, healthy children and parent/family well-being.
Utilizes reflective practice, motivational interviewing, and adult learning principles for staff and colleagues.
Responsible for overall clinical oversight of NNCC’s direct service programs, including Philadelphia Nurse-Family Partnership, Mabel Morris Family Home Visit Program, Philly SPROUT, FAIR, Community Mental Health Collaboration, LATCH, etc.
Provides ongoing clinical supervision to departmental directors, coordinators, and supervisors.
Takes accountability for, and works to maintain, and when necessary improve, clinical outcomes.
Addresses participant complaints, made through funders/regulatory bodies or directly to NNCC and follows up to ensure required changes/support occurs.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Provides leadership on bridging a “one team” approach across the entire organization across various programs. Ensures adequate cross-program communication and understanding in order to foster a collaborative team approach across all programs and staff.
Responsible for helping to lead NNCC’s progress towards meeting our values of diversity and anti-racism.
Ensures NNCC has sufficient staff hired and trained in order to meet clinical and operations goals/expectations.
Takes a leadership role in continually improving NNCC work environment.
Takes feedback from staff surveys and works with ED and management staff to implement and sustain needed changes.
Takes a leadership role in quality assurance activities
Regularly consults with and works hand in hand with the Executive Director regarding strategy, including the long-term sustainability (and expansion) of the organization.
Stands in for ED in meetings with PHMC, board members, regulators, outside organizations, etc. when necessary.
Serves as an in-house expert to participate in media opportunities, including radio/internet/TV shows and interviews with journalists for print outlets.
Seeks out professional training and develops new training programs and growth opportunities for staff.
Develops and maintains professional relationships with advocacy organizations, experts in the field, funders, other PHMC staff, and other organizations.
Participates in marketing and strategic planning development processes for the organization along with the ED, Board, and PHMC development staff.
Financial Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring that all programs/units are meeting budgeted productivity levels on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
Works closely with PHMC financial staff, and NNCC and PHMC administrative staff to:
Understand the payment source of each client as evidenced by obtaining and documenting information needed to bill responsible party.
Oversee administrative processes that allow for the completion of all forms required for submission of bills for services in a timely manner and according to agency policies and procedures.
Works with the ED and other staff to develop program initiatives to increase the financial performance of the agency.

Required Education and Experience:
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) required.
10 years of professional experience in nursing, including at least five (5) years in a supervisory role is required. Significant experience in evidence-based nurse home visiting is required including administrative management, clinical supervision, and direct care.
