JOB OVERVIEW:
The National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) Performance Management Analyst will support the implementation of the work plan milestones and manage the budget for all NWSS funding received at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health. This work includes reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating grant budget processes, and assuring compliance with grant regulations as well as with generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and procedures. The NWSS Performance Management Analyst will work to provide necessary reporting on NWSS activities, collect documentation from partners as necessary for grant reporting, track expenditures, and create timelines for ensuring reporting is submitted on deadline.
- This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional work after hours and on weekends to support NWSS activities.
- The position is grant-funded and is dependent on sustained grant funding.
- The position may require some travel and occasional participation in off-site functions.
- The position requires responding to public health emergencies and at times requires rapid turnaround of communications on short notice.
- This position reports directly to the Performance and Compliance Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with processes related to Division of Disease Control grants, specifically CDC Epidemiology and Laboratory National Wastewater Surveillance System funding.
- Review invoices from partner sites, staffing agencies, and vendors to ensure accuracy and identify issues.
- Manage spreadsheets tracking budgets, staffing, invoicing, and other datasets with data collected from the Division of Disease Control and Public Health Laboratory.
- Support the completion of monthly and quarterly financial and performance reporting on NWSS activities.
- Manage data from a variety of sources to run reports and analytics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide range of people
- Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines and planning timelines to ensure outside documentation is provided on time
- Equally comfortable working individually and within a team environment that emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration in a dynamic urban health environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including using formulas and reporting functions
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or a related field required
- Advanced degree preferred
