Engineering Manager, Manufacturing

Job Summary

Leads and manages the centralized engineering team across the manufacturing organization including Industrial, Manufacturing, and Test engineering departments.  Is responsible for identifying, developing, and assigning resources to support the Strategic Plan. Manages and develops the engineering team across the manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, assign, and manage engineering resources required to support the Functional Production Strategic Plans based on qualifications, experience, and scope of work.
• Achieve Operational KPIs in collaboration with Manufacturing Operations Managers.
• Build a strong team by developing, coaching, and mentoring the engineering team members. Provide technical advice and recommendations to the staff.
• Identify and implement personal development plans for each member of the team to support Strategic Production and Development Plans. Perform annual performance reviews for all direct reports. Identify individual development plans for the training that is required according to career progression framework.
• Anticipate the needs of the department. Develop, implement, and improve the organization with the aim of identifying and implementing process improvements, automated production, and BItE savings projects to achieve goals.
• Work to optimize the workflow in the department to ensure the highest quality and throughput in collaboration with the Manufacturing Operations Managers.
• Ensure all projects follow the company’s development, quality, and life cycle processes. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of these processes.
• Recommend engineering tools and ensure all engineers in the group are trained in the tools that are appropriate for their role.
• Evaluate external suppliers for their capability and cost to supply components for our projects.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Ten or more years demonstrated Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience
• Three or more years of engineering supervision or project management experience is desired
• Minimum BS Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, physics, or a similar discipline
• Experience with solid modeling software is required

Essential Job Functions:

• Must be eligible to receive a US passport.
• Must be able to travel by air for trips up to twelve hours.
• Occasional overseas travel for extended periods required.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
