Title: Finance / Cost Analyst – Engine Engineering Programs

Job Description:
Phoenix Technical Solutions is looking for an entry level Financial Analyst or Project Manager to oversee and manage the financial estimating and tracking for the Engine Engineering group. Such costing will consist of all internal and external cost for labor, material purchases, as well as 3rd party testing and design. Support and responsibility for Engineering programs efforts will be reported directly to Executive management as well as other C-Suite contributors.
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will support the Engine Engineering department in maintaining financial records and expenditures.
- Process funding requests from various stakeholders in the Engineering section about estimating available funds and overall project planning for the entire group.
- Enter, maintain, and track internal work orders.
- Capture, analyze and roll-up costs for associated spend while projecting year end balances.
- Prepares a variety of financial reports as needed and as directed.
- Proxy Engineering budget reviews and support action items in absence of the Engineering Manager.
Desired Skills:
- High level operational knowledge of Business Finance and Accounting for Engineering operations, which may include outsourcing design and development to GE’s 3rd party vendors.
- Must be detailed oriented and able to take on new tasks without heavy oversight
- Proficient with boiling down data to concise and presentable formats.
- Able to create basic tools (spreadsheets, reports) using standard software such as Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Creative with ability to solve problems of low to high complexity to meet requested actions.
- Experience with creating macros in Excel is a definite plus.
Qualifications/Requirements:
A degree in business (Finance/Accounting) or Industrial Engineering.
