Job Posting for Staff Scientist (XPS) at PHYSICAL ELECTRONICS
PHI is currently seeking a staff scientist to join our team.
Marketing department scientists are applied surface science experts that perform instrument demonstrations and support department objectives. Marketing department scientists provide technical expertise to the company that is used to shape demonstration strategies, create marketing materials, provide input for new product planning, and contribute to the solution of product problems.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides expertise in the use and application of XPS instrumentation.
Performs instrument demonstrations.
Organizes data and creates demonstration reports in order to communicate the results of the analysis and the strengths of PHI instruments to the customer.
Maintains instruments in “demo ready” condition.
Provides on-site instrument training at customer sites and develops training materials.
Develops marketing materials for XPS product line.
Supports inter-departmental activities including:the review or preparation of sales tender documents, software testing, and corrective action efforts.
Participates in new product planning activities with the voice of an expert user and a representative of the customer’s voice.
Represents the company by attending and presenting at scientific conferences.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science with XPS experience
Experience with XPS instrumentation and XPS data interpretation would be a significant advantage.
Candidates with a BS or MS and experience with XPS instrumentation will also be considered for this position.
