We are seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to join our team to continue to provide all patients with high quality care. Our teams work hard to support each other and we’re hiring talented individuals like you to join our mission!
Job Summary
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, vison, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, and pulmonary function testing
- Assists with registering patients and cleaning rooms as requested
- Perform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels. You must orient patients/families/caregivers to room and the hospital routine
- Log completed laboratory procedures completed and process related paperwork
- Perform clerical work as needed, including assembling/maintaining charts, filing, answering/transferring phones, and relaying messages
- Maintain examination rooms and stock necessary medical supplies
- Attends facility required staff training and meetings
- Travel 0-25% to nearby locations when necessary
Qualifications
- Minimum high school degree or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying team leader
- Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
- Computer knowledge and skills, must be able to register patients on the computer in a timely manner
- Up to date on injections, and provide documentation, as per OSHA guidelines
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to perform all job duties with no accommodations, including lifting to 50 pounds, repeatedly bend and twist, and stand for 10-12 hours per day
