Department: Operating Room
Location: Piedmont Atlanta Hospital
Schedule: Full Time Day Shift Friday- Sunday (3/12s)
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- High School graduate or GED.
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or LPN program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Surgical Tech Certification and 3 years of experience required.
- In lieu of Surgical Tech certification, 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years Surgical Tech
experience.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
- Current GA LPN License if applicable.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist Required or Licensed as an LPN required.
- BLS certification required.
