JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting complex enterprise wide system(s) and departmental project objectives. Creating and controlling project plans, goals, deadlines, testing, implementation, changes, upgrades and post live support of assigned systems. Working with affected departments to ensure assigned systems reflect the regulatory environment and procedures are built to regulatory specifications. This position is responsible for the design, testing, validation and ongoing support of the regulatory build in Epic. It is responsible for obtaining the appropriate Epic certification and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the software functionality, as well as for acquiring and maintaining a working knowledge of the CMS provider regulatory programs (specifically MACRA for eligible clinicians and Promoting Interoperability for eligible hospitals) and its associated measure specifications. Responsibilities include training, database/configuration maintenance, standard naming compliance, security maintenance and general support of complex systems. Mentors less experienced regulatory application specialists.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Obtains and maintains Epic regulatory certifications and prerequisite certifications.

Works with affected departments to ensure assigned systems reflect the regulatory environment and procedures are built to these specifications.

Responsibilities include training, database/configuration maintenance, standard naming compliance, security maintenance and general support of complex systems.

Responsible for designing and validating Epic builds and working with stakeholders to troubleshoot and solve issues that arise; responsible for communicating needed changes back to Epic build teams

Provides detailed application testing in a structured manner and documents test results.

Following established guidelines for system change control.

Develops and maintains quality and objective measure metric training documents to support workflows to be implemented.

Works with customer base to identify potential workflow issues and/or system enhancement needs related to regulatory measure builds.

Mentors less experienced regulatory applications specialists.

Experience maintaining relationships with internal and external customers from across Piedmont Healthcare is a must.

Excellent organization skills as well as excellent verbal and written skills including the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts and train users is required.

Ability to lead multi-faceted projects and department initiatives.

Must be able to handle work schedules to address project deadlines and performance.

Must be professional and able to lead a project from conception to production in conjunction with stakeholders from across the system. Subject to irregular work hours and able to address after hours on call events

Understand changing regulatory requirements (e.g. CMS, GA Human Services) and serve as subject matter experts to other stakeholders across Piedmont Healthcare

Ensure Epic build, reports, and other configuration meet regulatory requirements

Execute on system-level strategy to meet regulatory requirements

Support other system-wide IS projects as needed/available (e.g. go-live support)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Ability to translate complex business requirements to develop project specific work plans and enhancements to the assigned system(s).
- Develops and maintains application specific support documentation where needed.
- Provides system support including database table/configuration maintenance, standard naming, compliance, security maintenance, general user support of system.
- Performs in-depth investigation, analysis, and evaluation to determine project feasibility and to determine if Epic system are functioning as required to meet regulatory requirements.
- Prepares periodic and/or as requested status reports and other data reports/queries.
- Troubleshoots complex application issues in a timely manner.
- Maintains issue status and resolution in the tracking system, keeping management and users fully informed of ongoing progress.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in Computer Science, IS Applications, MIS, or a closely related field.
In lieu of degree, six (6) years of experience in computer information system, information technology, MIS or related field may be accepted in addition to the experience requirement.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four (4) or more years of progressive work experience as an applications analyst or regulatory specialist, to include (2) years of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) application experience, supporting complex enterprise wide system(s) and departmental project objectives.
(If no degree, a total of ten (10) years of experience required).
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Epic certification, including Epic Quality Badge, is required.
Two (2) years working directly with Epic applications and/or two (2) years Regulatory experience is preferred.
