Description
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Supports the mission of the organization as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the provision of the highest, quality healthcare to include individualized, patient and family-centered, holistic, and supportive care in a safe and caring environment. The Mental Health Technician provides patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment, with assistance from other health care members. The Mental Health Technician functions as a member of the therapeutic team as designated by the policies and procedures of Piedmont Healthcare Behavioral Health.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School diploma or GED required
Vocational or Technical Degree such as Emergency Medical Technician preferred
Associates Degree preferred
Minimum Experience Required
One year in a mental health or acute care setting preferred
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
CPI certification within the first 90 days of employment required
