What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Engineer position at Pieper Automation?
Pieper Automation is expanding and is looking for its next Automation Service Engineer to provide service and support to customers throughout Northern WI that require troubleshooting/repair of automation systems. If you have a service mindset, a knack for troubleshooting, and are looking to grow your career, we want to talk to you! This position will involve local travel throughout Northern WI.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction
- Some programming and small project duties in the office
- Work with the team to coordinate after-hours and weekend emergency service calls.
- Work independently; begin each day with a plan to execute scheduled tasks and adapt quickly to changes.
Qualifications:
- Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial controls (PLC, HMI, VFD, SCADA) and field service work; or 5 years minimum experience in industrial electrical field service and an advanced knowledge of wiring practices (NEC, UL).
- Minimum of 2 years of vocational or technical training in a job-related field, preferably construction electrical, industrial electrical, Automation System Technology, or a similar discipline
- A strong commitment to safety, placing safety as a priority above all else.
- Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
- Knowledge and experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens control systems and others is required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to understand the customer’s point of view
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with various levels of personnel including customers, vendors, managers, field and office workers
