Summary of Job Description The position, Welder A, is responsible for interpreting blueprints, job cards, bill of materials, and routing sheets. The Welder must be able to handle complications involving several variables which vary by customized orders. The Welder must be able to work within precise limits and have experience in bench, MIG, and/or TIG welding (aluminum and steel). Essential Functions Set up and assemble various components for welding Set up machine for welding Weld aluminum components (bench, MIG, TIG) Weld steel components (bench, MIG, TIG) Operate a torch and plasma cutter Grind welds Good problem-solving skills Assemble parts by bolting, riveting, or gluing Repair products by dismantling, straightening, and reshaping Train and motivate fellow team members Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills Regular attendance required All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent education Minimum one-year certificate from college or technical school; on the job training with experience may be accepted 6 months or more related experience Proficient in MIG welding on steel and aluminum as demonstrated by an on-site weld skills test Preferred Qualifications to complete Essential Functions Ability to build or construct product to drawing specifications Ability to properly use an oxy acetylene or plasma cutting torch Ability to read blueprints at an intermediate level Ability to motivate and train fellow team members Demonstrated experience using various small and pneumatic hand tools Ability to build or construct product preferred Other Physical Requirements *All positions require the ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
