To maintain residency, students must complete consecutive CPE units and continue their participation in the CPE program.
Required Skills Demonstrated ability to engage the clinical learning model (action-reflection-new action) of ACPE. Apply excellent communication and teamwork skills to maintain successful working relationships with team members and various groups throughout the system.
Listen effectively. Build appropriate rapport. Use diplomacy and tact. Demonstrate ingenuity, self-reliance and resourcefulness.
Able to take needed action without direct instructions. Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success building rapport, trust, and credibility with patients / families.
Exemplary personal-responsibility and follow-though as demonstrated in prior roles requiring frequent self-direction, effective time management, and appropriate boundary maintenance in both inpatient and outpatient contexts.
Promote cooperation with other work units, ensure team members are treated fairly, encourage teamwork behaviors. Required ExperienceRequired : Bachelor’s Degree with at least one year of completed graduate theological education.
Chaplain Residents must be accepted into the ACPE Certified CPE program by the CPE Certified Educator. Preferred : M.Div.
