What are the responsibilities and job description for the NURSE RECRUITER position at PIKEVILLE MEDICAL CENTER INC.?
Research, develop, and implement effective recruiting, staffing and retention strategies to attract and retain qualified nursing candidates. The Recruiter/Liaison will form relationships with regional academic schools and colleges to promote career pathways and opportunities with Pikeville Medical Center (PMC). The Recruiter/Liaison will work directly with PMC’s administration and management teams to deliver well-matched and high talent employees. Travel is required to regional academic schools and college campuses to recruit, interview, and screen job candidates to fill job openings and educate on pathways for advancement within PMC’s nursing division.
Proactively responds to all prospective students, identifies interests, and needs, connects students to careers or career advancement for specific program advice, assists throughout the process. Plays a vital role in ensuring that programs are meeting the needs to career advancement.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
A high school diploma or equivalency is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is required. 3 - 5 years of experience in working with the public at a professional level is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be organized and detail oriented. Experience in career or vocational counseling preferred but not required
- Assist with career clinics/job fairs.
- Collaborates with administration and hiring managers to identify upcoming needs of the nursing department and develop recruitment plan.
- Aggressively and proactively recruit applicants for vacant nursing positions, cultivate viable applicant pool and recommends alternative methods of sourcing.
- Collaborates with regional academic schools and colleges to promote and educate on career opportunities and pathways with PMC. Especially working closely with the Local County and adjacent counties superintendents to develop Certified Nursing Assistant programs to increase the future growth of potential nursing candidates to meet the demand of employment.
- Executes all aspects of the recruitment process, including compliance with standardized recruitment processes, protocols, procedures and timelines.
- Provides appropriate recruitment materials to prospective students and nurse candidates.
- Coordinates site visits for interested students and nurses.
- Develop a sound knowledge of market, local and regional competitors of Pikeville Medical Center including but not limited to planned turnover replacements and future expansions for the nursing departments and colleges.
- Collaborates with public relations and leverages the use of creative recruitment channels, including, but not limited to, social media, job fairs, alumni and professional networks, conferences, referrals, community job placement services, colleges, universities, and other appropriate contacts to facilitate advertisement and meetings for interviews, job fairs, and recruiting sessions.
- Develops and cultivates strong relationships with candidates and follows up with candidates in a timely manner during recruiting and onboarding process.
- Prepares reports for administration and human resources on vacancies, average time to fill by specialty workforce projections and recruiting ideas.
- Works with director of the department to assist with annual recruitment budget, and monitors expenditures to comply with budgetary limitations.
