Los Angeles, California Job Description The Los Angeles Office has an immediate opening for an experienced legal secretary with 5-7 years working in the litigation practice section. The attorneys focus on employment, insurance recovery, IP, commercial and complex business litigation. The ideal candidate will effectively support the attorneys with the following: Perform secretarial functions associated with firm administrative tasks, including processing new client/matter requests, engagement letters, conflict checks, client bills, time reports and expense reports. Formatting and editing a wide variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery, etc. This includes proofreading and redlining work for accuracy, Strong skills in e-Filing in both state, federal and appellate courts. Assist in supporting depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials. Excellent organizational skills to efficiently manage case files, calendars, and travel. Top-notch communication skills, poise, and professionalism which is vital for interactions with clients and members of the firm’s legal staff. Maintain confidential information, files, records, legal documents, and reports. Possess a positive attitude, be proactive, flexible and a team player. Skilled with use of electronic document management systems including exceptional knowledge of local rules and procedures for filing in both California and Federal courts and e-filing, including calendaring. Ability to prioritize needs based on urgency, multi-task and work in a fast-paced team-orientated environment. Ability to work overtime, when needed. The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of litigation secretary experience in a large law firm setting and a solid understanding of the litigation process. Advanced level computer skills are required including proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge and or experience in using NetDocs, Intapp Time, Chrome River. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for the position in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.
