Pine Tree Recovery Center is a 41 Bed Medically Monitored detoxification facility located in Portland, Maine. Our agency serves individuals suffering from substance use disorder in need of residential detoxification.

The Cook is responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking food for patients and employees and for overseeing the kitchen. He/she will provide services to patients whose ages range from adult to geriatric.

Responsibilities
- Coordinates a weekly menu approved by the facility dietician
- Maintains routine, daily clean and sanitary food storage and work space areas
- Coordinates kitchen staff to prepare meals on the weekends
- Provides clear directives to part-time cook to follow through on requirements specified above on the weekends
- Provides coverage on weekends if part-time cook is out sick, in conjunction with Food Services Director
- Ensures food is prepared with established specifications and quality standards
- Satisfies food handling requirements and food safety compliance
- Completes all assigned tasks and ensures work areas are stocked and ready for the next scheduled Cook
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized kitchen
- Supervises kitchen staff during assigned shift
- Assists Food Services Director with menu and recipe development
- Assists in the receiving, rotation and storage of products
- Identifies and reports food and supply needs
- Ensures that all staff follow sanitation/infection control regulations, and helps train and coach them in garnishing, presentation and other culinary skills
Pay: $17-$20 per hour
