Our nurturing and inclusive school is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work alongside our experienced staff and contribute to the growth and success of our students.

Position: SEND Teaching Assistant

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (Term time only)

Salary: £84 - £97 per day

Role Responsibilities

Work closely with our teaching team to provide tailored support to young people with complex needs.

Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive.

Provide one-on-one and small group support during lessons and activities.

Collaborate with teachers and therapists to facilitate the holistic development of students.

Contribute to maintaining a safe and organised classroom setting.

Qualities And Experience

While formal Teaching Assistant qualifications are not required, the following qualities and experience are desirable for success in this role:

  • Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school or care setting.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of students with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing situations and individual student requirements.
  • A commitment to learning and professional development in the field of special education.
