Nurse Supervisor LPN

As the Nurse Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing medical services directly to patients and for maintaining the appropriate records and medical files per State and Federal regulations. Assist with the development and changes of policies and procedures for medication administration as well as oversight of the pharmacy.

Requirements:
- LPN (License Practical Nurse) in the state of employment
- Prior experience with regulations and standards including infection control, quality assurance, and patient care compliance for state licensure.
- Two (2) years of experience working with chemical addiction and/or mental disorders including psychopharmacotherapy.
- Three (3) years of experience with supervision and/or management of a nursing team.
- Experience with triaging in emergency situations, assisting with medical emergencies.
- Able to provide thorough physical assessments of patients.
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation), First Aid, and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Knowledge and experience with regulations and standards including infection control, quality assurance, and patient care compliance for state licensure.
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license in good standing in state of employment and be insurable by the designated carrier. This role is required to drive for company purposes.
- Localized travel up to 20% may be required.
Preferred
- Five (5) years of experience working with chemical addiction and/or mental disorders including psychopharmacotherapy.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the nursing team, including medication services, admissions, and lab services. Supervision shall occur at least monthly or more often if warranted based on patient health needs.
- Development of schedules for nursing team and providing coverage when needed to fill gaps to ensure all shifts are covered within the facility.
- Provide oversight of inventory, ordering, receiving and accountability of medication / inventory control in conjunction with the other pharmacy personnel as required by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and state regulatory bodies.
- Ensure the Diversion Control Plan is in place and is always enforced within the facility.
- Consult in the development of the policies and procedures for medication administration or assistance with self-administration of medication or both.
- Administer / dispense medication under the direction of the physician.
- Ensure the treatment plan of the physician or Medical Director is adhered to within the facility.
- Administer and interpret Mantoux testing.
- Schedules appointments for patients to see the physician, provides lab work and referrals for additional follow up care.
- Provide training to nursing team in medical and health/safety matters and properly maintaining medical equipment.
- Assess patient response to treatment and medication dosage/interactions and determine appropriateness for dosing.
- Participate in case conferences, offering professional observations.
- Must document nursing progress notes on all patients.
- Orders medical supplies, maintains a proper inventory and record of use as per regulations.
- Maintains all medical records including but not limited to individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, Doctor’s orders, etc., as required.
- Educates patients about methadone/buprenorphine and their side effects. Counselors include personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and all medical matters including changes in treatment.
- Discusses with physicians and teammates important changes in treatment or noted patterns of behavior affecting treatment.
- Provides referral for specialized care at local health centers (e.g., Planned Parenthood, prenatal clinic, HIV/AIDS testing sites, etc.) and follows-up on patients’ attendance and treatment.
- Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.
- Attend ongoing training per program/Federal/ State requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
