Job Summary
Estimators work collaboratively with Sales, Project Management, Engineering and the Field to provide a detailed estimate of all labor and materials required to complete the Scope of Work for custom unitized curtain wall projects. They analyze the details of each potential project and incorporate lessons learned from previous projects to generate competitive bids. Will be required to drive company and/or personal vehicle to conduct company business.
Duties & Responsibilities
ANALYZES SCOPE OF WORK
- Reviews all project-related documentation and demonstrates a complete understanding of all requirements on assigned projects.
- Analyzes custom requirements new to Pioneer and notes details.
- Determines the most efficient and cost-effective approach to meet requirements.
- Ensures SOW in final contract matches SOW sold.
LABOR ESTIMATES
- Accurately calculates the labor cost for Shop, Engineering, Field & PM's based on an analysis of previous projects.
MATERIAL ESTIMATES
- Accurately calculates the amount and type of material (extrusions, dies, paint etc.) & required parts to deliver to the contracted specifications.
- Solicits bids from multiple vendors and ensures proposals are "apples to apples”.
PROBLEM SOLVING
- Collaborates with Resource Group and other internal teams to analyze custom requirements new to Pioneer and identify solutions.
PROJECT TRANSITION
- Effectively transitions project to internal project teams with all pre-sale obligations noted.
- Assists teams in interpreting project requirements and details.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in applied science or relevant technical field is preferred.
- Experience reading and analyzing construction and project management documents.
- Familiarity with basic engineering and architectural principles in structures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
