PRESS | Printing & Packaging is looking to hire a Pre-Press Graphic Designer/Art Manager for our Tualatin, Oregon office. PRESS | Printing & Packaging is the custom wine label printing | custom packaging division of Pioneer Packaging, a family-owned and operated company offering packaging solutions to customers throughout the Pacific Northwest since 1984.

PRESS is a print management company specializing in providing luxury labels and innovative packaging to our clients in the Wine Spirits and Craft Beverage Industries

We work with clients and suppliers large and small. We strategically place each custom project with one of our meticulously qualified print partners based on the specific details of each individual order. We manage the order process from inception of artwork to final delivery – offering legendary service throughout, ensuring impeccable print quality, competitive pricing, and timely deliveries for our wine/spirits clients and brand partners.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.

PREPRESS GRAPHIC DESIGN

- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop

- Responsible for reviewing, editing, and preparing files for printing. Must have a prepress background.

- Learn, follow, and be able to apply TTB requirements for Wine Labels.

- Deliver clean, concise, and well-noted AI art files to production.

- Preflight and review customer art files.

- Prepare Adobe Illustrator art files with print specs in a timely manner for quoting.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

- Need to have a great design eye to help advise clients.

- Able to create new label designs. Branding background is a plus.

- Help clients refine their design and give layout/design suggestions.

ART MANAGEMENT

- Keep art organized.

- Keep client feedback/notes organized for review on label reorders.

- Manage colors and consistency within label families. This would include giving production notes and samples for what label/colors/varnish needs to match or communicating any change notes with production.

CLIENT/VENDOR RELATIONS

- This is a hands-on position where you regularly communicate with vendors and clients. The ability to maintain good relationships even with stressful timelines is very important.

- Communicate art/final product expectations effectively with vendors.

- Meet with clients in 1-on-1 meetings to discuss label design, pick out Pantone colors, paper, give embellishment suggestions, etc.

- Manage quick and timely proof approvals. Communicate with clients to ensure they are seeing and approving/giving feedback for proofs within 24 hours.

TEAM PLAYER

- Our branch is a small team. The ideal candidate must be okay with filling in gaps for team members when needed. The tasks would be, but not limited to: - helping repack boxes, entering orders, greeting clients, preparing labels for shipment, preparing quotes / RFQs, checking in on order status with vendors, etc.

- MS Office / Excel experience

NICE TO HAVE

- Wine industry experience is a plus.

- WordPress proficiency

- Photography experience

- Social media management experience/desire

- Tech savvy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
