Role
The Assistant Team Leader is responsible for leading a manufacturing team in a specific product line to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity, and to meet operational and team goals. The team leader role maintains, tests, and repairs both mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies in the final assembly of equipment for Conair, Thermal Care, or Republic Machine brand products. This position reports to the Panel Shop Team Leader and is located in Franklin, Pennsylvania.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct, manage, and supervise the work of assemblers in a specific product line;
- Assemble equipment to engineering drawings, schematics, and IPEG standards, based on work orders or production schedules, according to specifications;
- Guarantee that assembly occurs on schedule and according to established quality standards;
- Assist in developing and testing procedures and processes;
- Develop, train, and motivate team members in sustaining a continuous improvement environment;
- Ensure that the team’s goals are aligned with and representative of the overall company’s directive, including enforcement of company policies;
- Interface with engineering to update drawings and parts lists to match equipment variances;
- Layout and sometimes manufacture precision parts involved with assemblies and sub-assemblies;
- Communicate with return goods to evaluate, repair, and upgrade customer return equipment to customer requests;
- Maintain records of assembly process, progress, and problems;
- Follow dispatch lists in assigned areas closely, and works hand-in-hand with purchasing and master scheduling to assure on hand inventory of parts and purchased components by reviewing shortage reports and visual triggers;
- Evaluate equipment and employee performance for quality and safety issues that may arise;
- Use bill of material and Baan computer system to collect parts to confirm quantities for completion of assemblies for customer orders;
- Daily review of on hand balances and inventory of manufactured and purchased parts in assigned work area;
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment through a continued program of daily shoveling, sweeping, and general cleaning;
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary : $33,000 - $41,700
