Piper Sandler is seeking a Fixed Income Business Analyst to join our Minneapolis, Chicago, or New York office. This individual will join the Business Consulting team within the Technology department. This individual will work closely with the Sr. Fixed Income Business Consultant, Technology, and internal business partners.
Responsibilities:
Partner with internal and external stakeholders
Consult with internal team members to capture and detail client requirements, identifying any gaps in functionality between current and desired future state and analyzing functional business problems and potential solutions
Write project documentation, including statements of scope, detailed business requirements, deliverables, and plans
Craft project testing plans and test scripts; facilitate client acceptance testing
Must be a self-starter with ability to build working relationships and ability to work effectively with various office locations in the US.
As a subject matter expert for order and trade workflows and interfaces you facilitate meetings and communication with vendors and team members
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Skills & Knowledge:
5 to 7 years relevant business analysis experience in the securities industry
2-5 years’ experience working directly with Fixed Income traders and sales, deep understanding of the sales & trading workflow
Hands-on knowledge of Bloomberg TOMS
Experience with Fixed Income E-Trading platforms (Tradeweb, MarketAxess, etc.)
Knowledge of Data Warehouses/Data flows/transaction flow
Solid data skills (e.g., Tableau, Excel/Access file manipulation, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting/ STEM or related field
FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 preferred
Basic programming knowledge (e.g., VBA or Python) a plus, but not required
