Piper Sandler is seeking a Fixed Income Trade Support Specialist to join our Global Operations team within our Minneapolis or New York office. This position provides support of the full customer and firm trade life cycle; execution, allocation, affirmation, and settlement. The candidate will also be responsible for executing a variety of daily functions in accordance with regulatory requirements and service level commitments across multiple fixed income products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· High level transaction management and familiarity with the demands of a trading environment.
· Strong knowledge of a wide range of fixed income products to ensure accurate and timely processing of all trader inquiries, trade corrections, and trade reporting.
· Work with sales force on opening, closing, and maintenance of master and sub accounts.
· Liaise with accounting and other groups within the firm on a variety of trade related discrepancies, technical issues, and other operational matters.
· Comprehension and application of regulations associated with the Federal Reserve, SEC and FINRA requirements in the extension of credit and trade settlements to customers. (Reg T and Reg SHO)
· Identifying opportunity to streamline workflows and processes to reduce errors, increase controls, enhance productivity and efficiency; work with technology to automate and enhance processes and management reporting.
· Other duties as assigned with the opportunity to cross-train within our Internal Controls Department.
Requirements:
· 4-year degree in Accounting/ Business/Finance/economics is preferred.
· 2-5 years of experience in financial services operations role.
· Experience with DTCC CTM and/or Alert, Trace, and MSRB a plus.
· Must have ability to offer alternative suggestions when issues arise and able to take appropriate action when under pressure.
· Must constructively deal with said pressure and time sensitive deadlines, be multi-tasked oriented, and be able to take work direction from various sources.
· Anticipate, plan and prioritize workflow to meet service level standards and commitments for timely distribution of risk reports and response to market, credit or regulatory exposures.
· Self-motivated, demonstration of initiative, extremely organized, exceptionally detailed and control oriented. Eager to learn and develop.
· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with senior leaders.
· Other requirements include excellent problem solving and organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel, Word and Access).

The anticipated starting salary range for New York City-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $50k-75k per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
