Overview
Piston Automotive of Wentzville is seeking an IT Plant Support Specialist.
The IT Plant Support Specialist installs, configures, troubleshoots, trains, and performs tasks to support the local area IT infrastructure, manufacturing software, and business systems. Run daily applications to support production schedule builds 866 processes and/or broadcast (i.e. ERP download to shop floor system, refresh 866 information to portal database table for viewing and refresh 866 information to support line production.) Install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade standard and label network printers for production operations. Update (add, change, delete) engineering change information in database tables to support the shop floor systems. Obtain new part numbers, shipping numbers, and PLC interface information from Program Management, Materials, and Engineering. Audit database tables to ensure engineering change are correct. Provide support and training to users and supervisors on installing labels and ribbons, cleaning print heads and basic troubleshooting techniques. Coordinate installation, troubleshooting, and upgrade of software for desktops, laptops, and servers based on Corporate standards. Support Manufacturing Systems. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly tape backups. Review logs and address all backup failures. Manage tape storage and offsite process. Search database tables to find BOM match of National Blend Sequence numbers scheduled to build. Identify and respond to all exception and error reporting being provided by the manufacturing systems through to resolution. Design and print special labels as required. Provide support and training for re-introduction of parts and reprint processes. Retrieve production, quality and other stored data as required by operations. Provide support and training to the users for all Piston Group Portal functions. Maintain documentation of network configurations, IP Addresses, and cabling layouts. Maintain physical security of the local IT server room and IT equipment. Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users. Requisition supplies (mouse, keyboard, patch cables, etc.). Participate in budget planning, implementation, and monitoring for purchase and maintenance of hardware and software for the plant.
Responsibilities
Work with local plant leadership to ensure IT standards and policies are being followed.
Install, network connect, troubleshoot, and upgrade PCs, scanners and printers for production operations.
Provide support and training to users and supervisors on how to use IT equipment for daily operations and how to perform basic troubleshooting.
Provides support and training to users for IT applications including Microsoft Office, developed applications and other Corporate software tools.
Image desktops and laptops based on corporate standards.
Monitor and support all network connections and phone systems within the plant.
Monitor daily backups and archive and purge historical backups in accordance with Corporate standards.
Weekly server disk clean-up, defragmentation, and restart.
Provides on-call support as needed 24 by 7.
Create partial shipments to support Material and Production schedule changes
Coordinates third-party maintenance for network, hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
Reassign prior built units (physical CMA's and batteries) to National Blend Sequences that are scheduled to be built to support Material and Production.
Obtain BOM of prior built units (physical CMA's and batteries).

Qualifications
Associate degree in Information Technology, Applied Sciences or a related field

- Four (4) years related experience as an IT Support Specialist or a related role
- Four (4) years of experience with the following:
- SQL Server database software
- Microsoft operating systems
- ERP software, PLEX preferred
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access); and other industry based software tools.
- Networking
- PC, printing, server, and backup technologies to support troubleshooting efforts.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience problem solving (gathering and analyzing information)
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience developing project plans
- A minimum of two (2) years of developing and implementing cost saving measures
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience of strategic planning
