Overview
PK, the experience engineering firm, is looking for a Certified Scrum Master who removes issues and ensures that the team adheres to its process. He or she will: Ensure that the team is fully functional and productive. Enable close cooperation across all roles and functions. Remove barriers and impediments that are preventing the team from completing work. Shield the team from external interference. Ensure that the team follows their process and pursues continuous innovation in their practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct the Scrum ceremonies viz. Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Sprint Grooming, Sprint Retrospective and Sprint Demo meetings.
- Track the sprint status on a daily basis and generate a bi-weekly Sprint Report, for every sprint.
- Act as a communication bridge across cross-functional teams, product owners, and leadership.
- Provide support and manage the NTWs on the team with respect to their work and LOEs.
- Organize Sprint Grooming sessions and confirm that the highest priority stories have been fully groomed and are ready for Sprint Planning. Capture team member capacity for the upcoming Sprint.
- Prepare tools and resources for Sprint Planning, viz the Kanban Board, and making sure the team’s Jira project reflects the planned stories.
- Facilitate the Sprint Planning session. Load the physical task board for the team. Update backlog and/or tool with tasks and commitments. Complete and share the team’s Sprint Commitment report. Capture end-of-day metrics and prepare Burn-Down and Burn-Up Charts for Daily Stand-up. Facilitate Daily Stand-up. Capture and track impediments, risks and dependencies until resolution.
- Monitor the team metrics in Jira and Jira Align during the sprint to make sure the team is on track.
- Prepare draft of Sprint Report for use during the Sprint Review. Facilitate Sprint Review session and ensure team is prepared for the Demo. Facilitate the Sprint Demo. Finalize the Sprint Report based on the Demo and Product Owner acceptance. Distribute the Sprint Report.
- Facilitate the team’s Retrospective. Update team’s improvement backlog with commitments from the Retrospective
- Update the current release’s Release Plan based on completed stories and changes from the Sprint. Review backlog depth with the Product Owner in preparation for future release planning activities. Schedule and facilitate Release Planning sessions for future releases based on the team’s cadence
Qualifications
- Experience in Agile development including coaching on agile methodologies.
- Degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards.
- Ability to coach a team and stakeholders on Agile practices and ensure adherence to Agile methodology.
- Strong facilitation skills in leading planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Enjoys solving problems and able to resolve conflicts through strong mediation skills.
- Communicates clearly and can deliver complex messages and teach new concepts.
- Coaching and mentoring a team to maximize progress and potential.
- Are motivated and driven and can influence and drive teams to success using Agile/Scrum/Lean practices.
- Proven leadership experience in achieving successful project outcomes.
- Scrum Master Certification (Preferred).
- Negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teamwork in and across teams and organizations.
- Fully committed to transparency in all situations.
- Needs to have past technical experience.
