Delivery Driver

Job description-SUSTAINABLE FOODS DELIVERY DRIVER

We are looking for a responsible Delivery Driver to distribute our SLOW Sustainable, Local Organic and Whole food products promptly to our customers. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction. This role involves loading product, often 25lbs and sometimes over 50lbs onto our refrigerated trucks, delivering/unloading those items to our customers (grocery stores, restaurants, institutions), picking up product from suppliers/vendors, and returning/unloading at our warehouse.

This role will work 8-12 hour shifts on Thursday, and Friday.

This requires the driver to be at our Warehouse in Springfield Oregon early in the morning 5am to 7am depending on the route.

Responsibilities

• Stage and load products for deliver routes
• Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
• Follow routes and time schedule
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
• Engage in face-to-face customer service at all stops
• Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
• Collect payments
• Complete logs and reports

• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards

Skills

• Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
• Valid professional driver’s license
• Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs of product several times throughout a shift
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to accommodate irregular shifts - early mornings and changing schedules with the seasons and company growth

Good driving record with no traffic violations

As a company, Planet Verde is growing very fast and needs people who are ready to jump in with both feet and help in various capacities within the company in addition to their regular delivery duties. Must have great interpersonal skills, clean, valid driver’s license, and be a quick learner. This position also requires regularly lifting heavy product, 25lbs - 50lbs. Candidates with driving, grocery, food service, and/or sales experience are preferred. We are looking for candidates who are committed toward supporting local small business. Job Type: Part time

• Pay: From $14.00 per hour training period of 1 month.
• $15-$17 per hour depending on experience.
• Review every six months.
