Planned Parenthood of Southwest & Central Florida is looking for the right candidate to fill the role of Assistant Health Center Manager for our Tampa Health Center.

JOB SUMMARY:
Ensures the efficient flow of the clinic operations and provides administrative leadership to and jumps in to support all staff and patient service areas. Responsible for supporting high-quality, patient-focused care delivery, which may include abortion services. This position works in coordination with and reports to the Health Center Manager. Ensures that staff adheres to PPFA Standards and Guidelines, PPSW&CF Medical Policies and Procedure Manual, Personnel Policies, Standing Orders, PPFA, OSHA, and CLIA standards.
Supervisory and Health Center Administrative Responsibilities (20% of time)
Health Center Responsibilities: (80% of time)
Health Center Duties:
· Educate patients during intake on birth control methods/GYN services.
- Conduct all elements of Intake and refers for other services as appropriate.
- Helps direct staff to triage patients, taking into consideration teams and staffing, services requested by patient, available rooms, cycle times, and time of day. Uses Patient Tracker, move staffs to different parts of the service, as needed. Break staff for lunch, breaks, and the end of day. Can help clean and stock exam rooms and move patients, as needed.
- Obtain pulse, temperature, blood pressure and measures height and weight of patient.
- Accurately completes charting and other appropriate forms with pertinent and information in a timely manner.
- Perform the duties of a health care assistant in an emergency as described in the emergency protocol.
- After procedures, may need to assist the patient to recovery area.
- Clean procedure rooms.
- Assist health center manager with organizing and coordinating activities of staff and physicians and/or clinicians in clinic flow.
- Assists Health Center Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring a corrective plan of action to address deficiencies identified on QM audits.
Front Receptionist Duties:
- Greet and welcome patients upon arrival, initiate electronic health record by completing verbal registration, verify and copy identification of patient and legal guardian if a minor.
- Collect co-payments.
- Distribute required consents and instructions to the patient.
- Post visit charges in the computer system.
- Accurately collect and record all payments, prepare receipt, and check for outstanding balances.
- Copy insurance information and coordinate with appropriate staff regarding insurance verifications.
- Label and dispense specimen cup to patient and direct them to the restroom.
- Complete cashier duties at end of day including preparing the credit card tally, balancing cash, and running system check.
- Ensure staff have scrubbed the next day schedule to ensure patient show rates.
Managerial Duties:
- Assist with maintaining the Health Center in a neat and orderly fashion, ensures that exam rooms, lab, and dispensary are adequately stocked. Assist with ordering Health Center supplies and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment as directed, creates, and submits purchase orders.
- Co-develops/reviews monthly staff schedules to assure adequate coverage to maintain services.
- Creates a culture of exceptional customer service by continually exceeding our patient’s expectations, properly maintaining, and cultivating positive relationships with patients, clinicians, and fellow employees.
- Supports the Health Center Manager as needed to ensure continuity in oversight of the center functions to ensure it operates effectively in all departments including maintenance of the facility and inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Ensures accurate completion of health center records and coordinates documentation.
- Leads initiations and implementations of new processes and services including service delivery enhancements.
- Assist Health Center manager by assuring staff follow all local, state, and federal laws and regulations relating to care delivery.
- Assist Health Center manager with achieving clinic goals and objectives including financial, customer service and productivity.
- Opens and closes the center on a rotating basis.
- Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to maintain and improve effective health center functioning and to advance PPSWCF’s mission.
- Assists in coordinating and training Health Center staff and volunteers as directed in all facets of Health Center operation.
- Holds staff accountable and responsible for the oversight of all PPFA/PPSWCF and all other required training(s), familiarity and competency in utilizing the CAL (Center for Affiliate Learning).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school or GED, additional college credits or degree preferred.
- 1-2 years related experience required.
- 1-2 years supervisory/leadership experience in a work, school, or community environment required.
- Language Skills: Accuracy in verbal and written communications. Spanish or Creole (Preferred)
- Location/Travel/Physical: Reliable transportation to and from work, occasional in-state vehicle travel. Ability to climb stairs and lift to 50 pounds.
Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of PPSWCF's total compensation package for employees.
