  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring alignment with Company needs and compliance with US GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, SOX controls and checks across all departments
  • Manage and execute the current 4-day monthly close process.
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, payroll, sales commissions, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting and standard costing. Identify and implement procedural changes to streamline processes, as appropriate.
  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances
  • Manage the monthly acquisition & disposition of capital assets, including pre-purchase documentation & approval, accounting and reporting process coordination with department leaders, budget and variance analysis.
  • Timely issuance of monthly financial records to Corporate for inclusion on their consolidation.
  • Manage, develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls in compliance with company standards and SOX requirements.
  • Manage the annual external audit and tax preparation process and own the audit/tax relationship.
  • Lead response to internal audit exercises, support schedules and requests for information
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Review and approve, in a timely manner, assigned balance sheet account reconciliations, locally and via Blackline software.
  • Review and approve, on a timely basis, accounting team manual journal entries
  • Lead and develop a team of six direct and two indirect reports. Determine and develop training protocols as needed and assess additional needs of team as organization grows
  • Drive key reporting metrics, such as: DSO, DPO, inventory turnover, SPU, PPU and similar measurements
  • Oversee quarterly physical inventory count exercise
  • Participate in annual budget exercise

Required Education and Experience

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous controller experience, preferably with a publicly-owned manufacturing
company
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • SOX control development, documentation, implementation and management
  • Knowledge and application of accounting principles including financial statements, costing, and fixed assets
  • Independently motivated, and a collaborative teammate that exhibits Problem-identifier and problem-solver
capabilities
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels with the company
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage change and prioritize in a rapidly growing and developing environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Advanced degrees (MS, MBA, MA) and/or Certification (CPA, CMA), preferred
  • Experience with multiple software platforms, including mid-tier ERP systems (D365)

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will oversee six direct and two indirect team members


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be stationed in a clerical, office setting. This role
routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, fax machines,
and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This is largely a
sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets,
and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday business hours. Some
weekends or evening hours may be necessary if dictated by extenuating circumstances.
