Job Summary:
Plant Prefab is seeking a Senior Plant Accountant to be responsible for all plant accounting, accurately maintaining the general ledger, assisting in financial and operational reporting, performing data verification, working with all functions of project manufacturing, supporting growth initiatives, and enabling management to analyze operational tactics to make sound financial decisions aligned with company objectives. The position will be based in our Rialto, CA headquarters and report to the VP Controller.
Requirements
Core Responsibilities:
- Gathers, maintains and analyzes information for the general ledger system from multiple departments and reconciles accounts on a timely basis.
- Analyzes and verifies general ledger system for accuracy.
- Performs Plant month-end closing procedures for inventory, accounts payable, purchasing, fixed assets, and projects.
- Inventory management and reporting. Coordinate integration of inventory movements into projects and periodic cycle counting.
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
- Maintain balance sheet schedules and reconciliations of key accounts.
- Support internal/external audits.
- Review operation expenses for proper coding and reasonableness.
- Support plant initiatives, working in conjunction with Plant Management.
- Oversees Plant Accounts Payable.
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
- Responds to various accounting and financial questions by researching data.
- Assists with credit applications, financing, collections and project bonding.
- Ensures compliance of legal and regulatory documents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance.
- Five years of accounting/operations experience. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (Project Manufacturing a plus).
- Experience working with integrated ERP systems (Oracle Net Suites a plus).
- Demonstrated advanced skills with various software applications – MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook.
- Ability and willingness to keep/maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently.
- Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and suggest adequate processes for internal controls.
- Desire to continue to grow through continuing training. Demonstrated ability to implement and promote change.
- Demonstrated experience and ability in compiling annual operating plans and budgets.
- Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
- Ability to effectively take action to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment, exceptional attention to detail.
