Level II Field Technician Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Level II Field Compression Technician assumes responsibility for providing technical services related to installation, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of Platinum’s products while maintaining effective communications with fellow team members and clients. The Field Technician must perform his duties to assure the safety of himself and those around him and assure cleanliness and orderliness of the work area. The duties and responsibilities of the Field Technician include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides support to the Service Department by being the subject matter expert on Platinum products.
- Gives support to management with regards to suggestions for improvements on employee performance or company processes.
- Promotes an engaging, healthy, and cooperative working environment.
- Ability to train lower-level employees
- Travels onsite to complete service work and monthly preventative maintenance requirements for Platinum’s vapor recovery units and other products.
- Inspects, investigates, and troubleshoots equipment for quality control and improvements.
- Provides technical support to necessary persons (customers, manufacturers, distributors, etc.) for product installs, troubleshooting, and training.
- Manages and maintains truck stock of inventory.
- Uses and adapts computer programs to retrieve and analyze data.
- Available for 24-hour on-call duty.
- Willingness to travel.
- Maintains cleanliness of the work area and associated equipment.
- Proactively responds and adapts in the work environment to meet the highest standards.
- Prioritizes and coordinates work activities to complete jobs individually and as a team.
- Expresses ideas clearly in written and oral communication with team members and management to complete various jobs.
- Understands and utilizes safety procedures and safety equipment at all times.
- Seeks growth in expanding knowledge and skills through training and education.
- Presents self in a clean, neat, professional manner and wears company uniform (if provided) in its entirety.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, twist/turn, push/pull, squat, crawl/kneel, reach above shoulder.
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm movements.
- Average close/distance vision is necessary in order to record data and operate equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and be understood by others.
- Must be able to hear the various equipment in order to diagnose issues.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent customer support and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to apply sound reasoning and understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, operations, and duties.
- Ability to apply solid reasoning and understanding when dealing with any problem.
- Ability to perform moderate to advanced math skills including, but not limited to, calculations, percentages, etc.
- Innovative and able to work in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years Mechanical/ Instrumentation/ Electrical background within the oil and gas industry
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience and knowledge with vapor recovery units or compression is required.
- Safe Land certified preferred
- High School diploma, or equivalent
