About the Role
Phrend Behavioral Health is opening our first office in Northfield, NJ. We are seeking a Clinical Director who has an enterprising spirit and wants to make a positive impact in our community.
Have you wanted to build your own practice but have hesitated due to the financial and administrative obligations? Phrend Behavioral Health has partnered with a managed services organization to help with the administrative, non-medical work involved in running a practice and supporting the Clinical Director.
As the Clinic Director, you will report to the CEO and will build and lead all clinical aspects of the practice. You will set precedents for clinical activities and for the culture of the office. The perfect candidate will share our vision for improving and expanding access to quality mental health care, and who will help us build an environment driven by our core values which are kindness, acceptance, respect, empowerment, and sincerity.
The Clinic Director will be highly compensated for accepting responsibility for the overall performance and operation of a clinic composed of a team of approximately eight full-time-equivalent professional outpatient therapists. This includes hiring and recruiting top-notch clinicians; managing clinic performance and client satisfaction; providing training and ongoing developmental support; meeting fiscal goals; marketing clinical services and building community partnerships and referrals. You will also maintain a reasonable client caseload.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff Related Duties
- Supervise all therapists.
- Oversee the hiring process for all therapists.
- Provide all training for clinic new hires.
- Assess ongoing development and training needs and conduct ongoing training as needed.
- Manage staff performance.
- Provide clinical oversight to clinic’s Mental Health Practitioners and Professionals, including signing clinical documentation for pre-licensed providers.
- Provide 1:1 consultation with all therapy staff to review productivity, caseload, and clinical documentation.
Client Care
- Evaluate mental health diagnosis, create, and implement a treatment plan, complete ongoing documentation including further diagnosis, treatment plan reviews, and case notes according to company policy.
- Utilize creativity in interventions to help clients achieve and exceed goals.
- Prepare and submit individual documentation for each session per company guidelines and protocol.
- Coordinate services with case managers, families, work personnel, medical personnel, other Phrend staff, and school staff as needed.
Clinic Oversight
- Monitor and manage clinic office schedules and office supplies.
- Provide timely response to concerns raised by clients, clinicians, or external stakeholders.
- Serve as point of contact for building management related issues or concerns.
- Clinic Outreach, Marketing, and Networking
- Spearhead clinic’s community outreach and engagement efforts,
Organizational Leadership
- Collaborate with CEO to implement all required policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve client care, quality, and effectiveness, and implement changes in collaboration with the CEO.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Master’s Degree or higher education in mental health discipline.
- Independently licensed with a New Jersey-issued clinical practice license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and executive skill sets.
- Strong working knowledge of state requirements regulating mental health practice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and changing environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Adept at learning and navigating Electronic Health Record systems.
