What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position at Platinum Recovery Center?
To provide comprehensive evaluation and to treat adult substance abusing population, chemical abusers, and mentally ill patients. To assess prospective patients for detox and to rehabilitate. Address any immediate ongoing health issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Conduct evaluation with relevant history, health assessment based on the patient’s signs and symptoms.
- Identify needs of the patient and make a differential diagnosis based on the clinical
presentation, history and clinical findings.
- Conduct waived testing for urine, blood work and glucose monitoring.
- Develop a prioritized and mutually acceptable plan of care according to the written practice protocols in collaboration with the physician.
- Implement a treatment plan that is prioritized and mutually acceptable with appropriate
diagnostic tests, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, patient education, and with appropriate referrals as needed.
- Provide systematic follow-up by evaluating the effectiveness of various treatments provided, therapeutic processes used, their outcome and modifying treatments & management plans as necessary to achieve the optimum mental health goals.
- Provide educational materials & information needed to make well informed choices and
decisions by patients about their health promotion, illness prevention and finally, illness treatment.
- Provide a safe environment for the patient, and promote patient advocacy at the individual, community, and global levels.
- Participate with other professional colleagues to provide comprehensive health care.
- Maintain accurate, legible and confidential medical records.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current/valid New York State Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
- Currently registered as a registered professional nurse and NP certification in good standing
- DEA license
- Hold all requirements indicated by the NY Department of Drug and Alcohol Program to perform history and physicals and prescribe medications
- Current basic life support for health providers (BLS)
- Three (3) years of related work experience
- ANCC credentialing and certification
SKILLS:
- Computer skills
- Strong written and interpersonal communications skills
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as
medical records and point-of-interview technology
- Attention to detail
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills

Pay: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour
