Creative CAD Specialist
At PlayPower we design, sell and manufacture playgrounds, shade structures and other fun recreation products and we are growing our design team, based out of our Huntersville, NC office. The Creative CAD Specialist will be on the front-end of new play concepts and designs, bringing to life custom themed playgrounds and new product innovations. The Creative CAD Specialist performs custom assignments using AutoCAD 2012 or later, 3DS Max, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office, and will also assist the Sales Representatives in proposing/closing sales.

Creative CAD Specialist

The Creative CAD Specialist performs custom assignments using AutoCAD 2012 or later, 3DS Max, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office, and will also assist the Sales Representatives in proposing/closing sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design custom play spaces utilizing Proprietary Software and standard CAD blocks/designs provided by PlayPower or others.
- Design two dimensional & three-dimensional structures and components/Blocks using AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and Proprietary Software.
- Create and maintain drawing templates and presentation templates.
- Produce photorealistic renderings and detailed presentation packages of standard, custom, and themed play structures.
- Various administrative functions related to site design including but not limited to workflow documentation, electronic queue, and project scheduling.
- Ability to read plans and specifications provided by sales representatives and customers.
- Communicate in a professional and friendly manner with sales representatives and/or customers (both orally and written)
- Assist Proposal Department with proposals as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree in Technical/engineering Drafting and Design required or equivalent industry experience.
- 4-year degree preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in engineering, architectural or media design environment is preferred.
- Sales/Customer Service experience is a plus.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of AUTOCAD 2020 or higher.
- Working knowledge of 3ds Max 2020 or higher.
- Adobe products which include Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign strongly preferred.
- Must be detail oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve business results
- Strong follow-up skills, ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customers’ needs as needed
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
- Strong organizational skills, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon time-frames through effective prioritization
- Must be able to work independently.
- Imaginative and independent thinking is preferred.
