JOB SUMMARY
The Production Manager is responsible for mentoring “off-shift” supervisors and providing guidance and oversight to employees. This role will thoroughly understand the workflow and will achieve production targets for the shift by driving execution of production through various departments. The Production Manager will be responsible for off-shift “lean events” and 6S initiatives. This role is based out of our Monett, MO office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mentor “off-shift” supervisors and providing guidance and oversight to employees.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the production workflow.
- Responsible for off-shift “lean events” and 6S initiatives.
- Ensure team adheres to safety standards and wears specified PPE, incident reporting process requirements and follows workers compensation procedures for any work related accidents or illnesses.
- Play a leadership role and be accountable for safety, quality, on time delivery and efficiency metrics.
- Communicate with management and HR regarding personnel issues, as appropriate.
- Foster a close working relationship with cross-departments
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 or more years of manufacturing experience
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to push/pull heavy objects
- College level education degree preferred
- Previous leadership experience required
- Understands metal fabrication and finishing operations to create coated products
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement tools to drive processes
- Previous experience with Lean and 5S or 6S (strongly preferred)
- Ability to be forklift certified required
