POSITION SCOPE:

The Sheet Metal Estimator will be responsible for creating accurate cost estimates for bidding projects in various construction markets.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for producing sheet metal and HVAC estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements
• Attend pre-bid or team scope review meetings and understand the complete scope of work required, with sometimes-limited information
• Visit construction project sites for job walks and meetings
• Review and understand all the project bid documents
• Locate, notify, and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations on outsourced work
• Complete the estimate take off, using on-screen computer estimating, within time deadlines
• Complete change order estimates for awarded projects
• Work as a team with other estimators, project team, and other company departments
• Compile and finalize the estimate within time deadline and participate in team reviews with management on bid day
• Prepare value engineering analysis in anticipation of the customer's best interest
• Develop the scope of work narrative
• Prepare proposal letter including the scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications. Additionally, meet proposal due date schedules
• Anticipate requirements of producing estimates with little information given
• Consistent customer follow-up for feedback on bid/proposal, reporting results to management
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years commercial sheet metal estimating or commercial sheet metal drafting
• Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications
• Ability to adapt to Company estimating policies and procedures
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) and BlueBeam
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• Must have a Valid Driver's License with clean record

COMPENSATION: $75,000 - $95,000
