What are the responsibilities and job description for the Total Loss Supervisor position at Plymouth Rock Assurance?
The Auto Total Loss Claims Supervisor will oversee the operation of a unit of Claim Representatives with varying levels of experience who handle Total Loss Claims in accordance with state specific regulations. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Total Loss process and the nuances of salvage responsibilities. This position is available in our Boston, MA office.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Direct and control the work of Total Loss Representatives who evaluate, negotiate, and settle total loss claims.
- Establish and monitor unit goals for service, production, and work quality.
- Plan unit workflow and monitor assignment of claims to Team Members based on volume.
- Promote teamwork through effective leadership.
- Review active and closed files in compliance with Quality Assurance program to identify trends, provide direction, and provide feedback to unit.
- Provide management with monthly analysis of quality trends and performance of claims associates and salvage recoveries.
- Conduct training on a group and individual basis on all aspects of the job.
- Review and approve settlements that exceed staff authority levels.
- Conduct performance reviews and counseling sessions.
- Monitor attendance and write performance appraisals.
- Make recommendations for promotions, staff changes, and salary. Obtain Professional license(s) as needed.
- Obtain Professional license(s) as needed.
- Participate in the interview process making recommendations to hire/not hire with reasoning.
Qualifications and Education:
- 4 years of experience working in the claim environment.
- A Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Able to exercise independent judgment.
- Have a working knowledge of claim applications, including Image Right, Stream, and the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
