What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Education Coordinator position at PMI?
Position works on-site at the Western Maricopa Education Center
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist students to determine post-secondary career options by evaluating students’ abilities and interests through assessments, interviews and individualized appointments to support student planning.
- Deliver classroom presentations on topics such as effective resumes and interviewing, financial literacy, and planning for college or careers after graduation.
- Assist students in transition from secondary to post-secondary level schooling by providing assistance with financial aid applications, college applications and essays, assessments, and scholarships.
- Implement the goals and objectives of the PMI and partnering high school policy and procedures to ensure compliance with college and school district policies.
- Utilize reports and tracking tools to assess individual progress against key performance indicators, (i.e., student contacts, interviews, admissions application processing, completion of student retention activities, and student outreach).
- Follow up with applicants regularly to record, update, and analyze information in the database. Follow-up with applicants to update statuses.
- Set and monitor applicant expectations throughout the admissions process and promote effective communication between financial aid, student outreach, and program leadership to ensure a seamless experience from applicant to new student.
- Be receptive to coaching and feedback, demonstrating the desire to achieve and exceed goals set by manager.
- Coordinate regular activities to ensure successful collaboration of partnership operations with academic and student services support staff.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff and other student services divisions on multiple campuses to help achieve district-wide goals and contribute to long-range, community based planning.
- Coordinate with each campus and program to prepare students and implement mock interviews.
- Attend and participate in program advisory board meetings for all health career programs.
- Participate in campus events such as open houses, registration day, orientations, campus tours, and signature event.
- Meet individually with each exiting student in the program to discuss and record post-program plans, contact information, and review student resumes.
- Support industry credentialing by assisting with student certification test proctoring, and scheduling and applying for off-site certification exams.
- Support leadership development of students by assisting with HOSA contests, chaperoning at conferences and proctoring qualifying HOSA assessments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate Degree in an allied health profession from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
- Three (3) years of instruction/teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary education environment.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, documented by post-secondary education or job experience in the subject matter.
- Project management experience.
- Must hold a current teaching license, certification or other designations as required by local, state or federal laws.
- Experience with public speaking and classroom presentations.
- Recruitment experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and other computer skills.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education or experience that meets the minimum qualifications.
