Position Summary:
The primary role of a Pneu-Dart machinist is to work within a team of individuals and operate a wide variety of manual and CNC lathes and mills. Preference given to machinists that are familiar with Haas controllers. Focusing on subtractive manufacturing, ideal team members focus on Production Kanban levels and ensure quality parts made ready for the next phase of manufacture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing drawings, instructions, and samples to ensure accurate production.
- Selecting appropriate equipment for required tasks.
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Taking precise measurements to support cutting and shaping.
- Monitoring production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate operating standards to support production goals.
- Maintaining Kanban levels and yt.
- Maintenance procedures for all equipment
- Ability to continuously learn and contribute to a team environment by working with all levels of team members.
- Inspects output for quality assurance and documents defects.
- Assist in preventive maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
- Maintains inventory of completed products.
- Operates and maintains milling and lathe machines.
- Operates and maintains CNC mill and lathe.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Reports issues or problems with production to Team Leader
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to interpret prints and shop drawings and understand part tolerances.
- Ability to use basic measuring tools i.e., calipers, micrometers, scales.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with strong trouble shooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Possesses the physical dexterity necessary to assemble and maintain small production parts.
- Must be able to physically complete required tasks such as: lift, pull, push, grab, stoop, bend, twist, climb and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75lbs.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Ability to understand and follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to identify problems or malfunctions with equipment use.
