What are the responsibilities and job description for the PHARMACY TECHNICIAN position at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital?
Pocahontas Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time pharmacy technician for the hospital pharmacy department. Hours will be Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4pm. Essential duties and responsibilities, under supervision of a pharmacist, will include assisting with medication preparation for hospitalized patients, stocking and maintaining automated dispensing cabinets, and helping to maintain the actual day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department in a manner consistent with policies and state and federal laws. Other technician responsibilities could include, manual charge entry, unit-dose packaging, aseptic preparation of parenteral medications, and ordering/managing/maintaining inventory. Candidates must have strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to respect confidentiality of patient data. Pharmacy technician license not required, but preferred.
