Podiatry Centers of Maryland is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Medical Assistant to join their healthcare team. We offer great benefits and competitive pay.
Minimum Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements: Certification from a Medical Assistant Program required. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and understanding HIPAA Guidelines. Must be able to work independently and in a team setting with other staff.
Essential Medical Assistant Functions:
- Patient Triage
- Obtains weight, height, vitals signs prior to going into the room.
- Enters the patient’s vitals into the computer, as well as the chief complaint, LMP, and any new medications.
- Performs ECG’s on patients and inputs the proper information in the EMR system.
- Requests all labs and hospital results and scan to patient chart.
- Answers the telephone to answer patient questions and making appointments.
- Uses good judgment in decision making and communicating with all patients and colleagues.
- Communicates any patient, personnel, or electronic system problems with the appropriate supervising Manager in a timely fashion.
Experience:
- Medical Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
- Podiatry Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
License:
- CMA/CNA (Required)
