Press Helper

Summary: Level 2 Press helper will be working with other higher-level operators; they are expected to quickly learn and understand the printing process. The print supervisor will be constantly checking up on their advancement as they learn how to operate machinery and evaluate product.

General Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned as required)

• Assist level 1 press operators in the operation of the printing press
• Work in the ink mixing area and/or screen room
• Operate a printing press safely and efficiently
• Follow the job specifications accurately and finish the job in a timely manner
• Protects the health and safety of him/herself and other employees by always operating in accordance with internal Pointsmith safety guidelines and OSHA regulations.
• Pay attention to detail on any job
• Get approval on any press proof by printing supervisor
• Work with supervisors and other employees
• Good command of the English language
• Able to read and understand written instructions
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Work flexible hours
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Printing Supervisor

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• No experience necessary, but a willingness to learn and an interest in the printing industry is preferred

Physical Efforts and Skills:

• Must be able to work 40 hours per week and pass an Ishihara Color Blind Test
• Good command of the English language
• Ability to read and understand written instructions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $22.00 per hour
