PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Build, test, troubleshoot, and debug tunable filters in an engineering environment during the development and qualification phases of a program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proficient in the use of schematics, PCB/PWB layouts, mechanical drawings and work instructions to build, test, troubleshoot and repair RF/microwave circuits.
- Perform component level troubleshooting and repair of RF assemblies and sub-assemblies such as filters, LNA's, power amplifiers, power supplies, digital controllers, etc.
- Assist engineers in developing test plans, procedures, and test instructions
- Test subassemblies and systems, collect and analyze test data, and prepare technical reports as required
- Perform maintenance and/or calibration of equipment and fixtures as required
- Create PCB prototypes
- Excellent soldering and assembly skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Working knowledge of RF principles such as filter operation, amplifier basics, insertion loss, return loss, VSWR, and S-parameter measurements
- The ability to adapt methods to solve problems
- Proficient in the use of standard test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum and network analyzers, power meters, data acquisition units, power supplies, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and other equipment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Mechanical ability related specifically towards building assemblies, prototypes, and fixtures
- Proficient soldering skills required (J-STD-001 certification preferred)
- Knowledge in MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, and RTCA/ DO-160 a plus
- Knowledge in the use of LPKF prototyping equipment a plus
- Knowledge in the use of LabVIEW programming environment a plus
- Wire Bonding knowledge and/or experience is a plus
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience:- Two-year (Associate's) degree in electronics related field from an accredited college or university and 1 years of experience in electronics OR 10 years of high level technician's experience in electronics, or equivalent
- Experience with RF based systems
- Knowledge of CAD software a plus
- Experience creating laboratory or production automation with LabVIEW a plus
- MIL-STD environmental test experience a plus
- Must be a US person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder))

WORK SCHEDULES:
- Normal work hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday with an alternate option of a 9/80 schedule if preferred
- Lunch period is one hour per day, unpaid
- Breaks are two 15-minute per shift
