Position
We are seeking a Senior Finance Associate who will be a member of the Finance team in our Business Management division. The successful candidate will have experience in financial accounting. Having a CPA (active or inactive) is a plus. The role will involve managing day-to-day accounting including payroll management, AR, AP, complex compensation, 401 (k) plans, treasury/cash management, and other finance related projects.
The core responsibility of this position is to work hand in hand with the Finance Manager and other members of the Finance team, with the goal of increasing automation and managing the accounting environment for an increasingly complex asset management firm.
Responsibilities
- In charge of tasks relevant to the employees (both U.S. based and international) bi-weekly payroll administration process, inclusive of calculating new hire and terminating employee pay amounts with the related employee benefit deductions involved in the payroll processing
- Coordination of family leave benefits from various states and taxable fringe benefits
- Manage annual W-2 process for US-based employees
- Coordinate annual P-11D process for UK-based employees
- Register for payroll tax IDs in new states and update payroll system (UKG) accordingly
- Develop recommendations to improve the processes and procedures of the payroll function to maintain the Finance Department internal controls
- Responsible for managing aspects of various employee benefit related vendors
- Serve as an additional resource for bi-weekly A/P activities from receipt of invoices to processing of payment. Includes oversight and processing of employee expense reimbursements through Concur (third party travel & expense application)
- Serve as an additional resource for day-to-day accounting of our firmwide revenues and expenses including client management fees, fund expenses, and corporate expenses including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, payroll, Revenue Recognition, GAAP accounting and reporting requirements within a multi-entity structure
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and reporting
- Participate in the annual year-end audit of the Company
- Ensure accuracy and quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as payroll and benefits administrator/manager and general accounting experience
