POLITICO is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Advertising Operations to join our growing and collaborative Consumer Strategy and Operations team. This role will lead a team of Managers, Specialist and Associates while guiding the team to successfully activate and implement on direct sold advertising spreads across all POLITICO platforms (digital, print, audio, and video).
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of Managers, Specialists and Associates responsible for activation and fulfillment of direct-sold advertising campaigns.
- Work with Programs & Partnerships leadership to develop and maintain optimum workflow between teams.
- Manage account and project assignments of team members to effectively balance their workload and continued professional development.
- Manage implementation and configuration of ad delivery systems and reporting tools
- Manage ad inventory structure in collaboration with Executive Director and Programmatic team.
- Support Executive Director with prioritization, development/implementation, testing and rollout of ad tech enhancements and new features.
- Research and evaluate new platforms and systems that could improve our ad delivery workflows
- Troubleshoot and solve complex and high priority ad delivery or reporting issues
- Plan and manage onboarding and training of new members of the Ad Operations team; Plan or lead Ad Ops-focused onboarding sessions for all new members of the Consumer Business team
- Support systems developments and implementations; train team members on updates and/or new systems
- Complete special projects and tasks assigned by Executive Director and other executive leaders
What You'll Need:
- 7 years advertising operations experience using Google’s advertising platforms
- 4 years managing high-performing teams
- Expertise in digital advertising trends and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience with data management, visualization, and analysis to extract meaningful, actionable insights
- Experience working in web analytics, data/audience management, and other tracking/reporting platforms
- Experience working with technology and development teams
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Extremely detail-oriented and dependable when working on a team
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with web languages (HTML, Javascript, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- B.A./B.S. or equivalent professional experience required
