Job Summary
TravelCenters of America offers a convenient, one-stop shopping experience to our customers. We carry a wide selection of name-brand products, and are stocked with Grab ‘N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, and even clothing and gifts! The Store Lead plays an integral role of leading the team in achieving shift targets specific to cost control, safety, food quality, sanitation, cleanliness, and customer service for the retail store. They ensure we are returning every traveler to the road better than they came!
In this role, you can expect to:
· Be a leader and inspire your team to meet and exceed shift targets (including safety, food quality, sanitation, cleanliness, and customer service) and improve the potential of the retail store.
· Focus on fast and friendly customer service, good product knowledge, up-beat atmosphere, etc.
· Embody a professional demeanor and a high level of character, honesty and integrity in conducting the business affairs of the store; Inspire all team members to do the same
· Perform administrative duties in the areas of cost control, cash handling, and the completion of required reports for your shift
· Adhere to safety standards and abide by standards of operation
· Assume the duties of any hourly associate position as necessary
What we’d like to see:
· An individual who sets the example when working alongside team members
· The ability to motivate, train and develop people to unleash the talent within each team member
· High School Diploma (or GED) required
· Supervisory experience preferred in convenience store, travel center, or related industry
· Exhibit good verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and email; operational understanding of POS software

Typical Physical Demands
In this role, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. Standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending over, crouching, crawling, climbing, and repetitive use of legs are done occasionally. The team member is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs and/or move heavy objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment
While performing these duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons.
