The Role
Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to grow and manage our boutique and small format channel and develop other strategic accounts.
Our Sales Representative will be responsible for nurturing existing relationships, driving sales growth, and identifying opportunities for expanding our presence in key markets.
Additionally, this role will involve actively pursuing new business opportunities to further strengthen our position in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit a professional leadership presence with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, adapt product positioning and strategies based on the type and location of the store to maximize sales potential.
- Leverage existing relationships with retailers to introduce Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn.
- Manage full sales cycles from prospecting to closing, ensuring a consistent pipeline of opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities, including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within CRM.
- Collaborate closely with Sales Director and Marketing team to align on campaign initiatives and product launches.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep customers within their payment terms and collecting payments when appropriate.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and market developments to identify new opportunities for growth and provide feedback to company leadership.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements :
- Minimum 4 years of direct sales experience in the gifting and small retail format.
- Strong understanding of the market and a demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Strong analytical skills to identify market trends and sales opportunities.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation skills, and attention to detail.
- Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and work effectively within an ambiguous environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and standard email applications. Experience utilizing a CRM tool.
- Ability to engage in a significant amount of territorial travel, regional sales meetings, and other sales specific events.
- Valid Driver License and reliable vehicle.
