Purpose:
A Technical Operations Supervisor is responsible to monitor the efficiency of the IT department and apply efficient methods to improve processes, mainly relating to operations and technicalities.
This role demands the following – prior work experience, hands-on experience in implementing operational processes; knowledge of operational principles and policies; team leadership, highly skilled in delegating.
Essential Duties:
- Supervises a team of technical staff (3 employees)
- Leads and supervises the technical team
- Managing day-to-day delivery activities in support of prioritized projects and ongoing operations.
- Establishes and implements individual and team priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure completion of responsibility.
- Ensures proper functioning of the organization’s information systems and makes upgrades as necessary.
General Description:
- Supervises and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Serves as a point of escalation and/or resource to investigate and resolve system outages and project concerns.
- Manages and ensures optimal operation of all end-point devices, network, server, and storage hardware and equipment.
- Monitors daily operations including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Develops and oversees the installation, upgrades, and maintenance of systems, which include software and hardware.
- Maintains essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware for end users.
- Ensures network components meet needs and work together seamlessly, and continuously analyzes current processes, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement.
- Monitors performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.

- Firewall management
- Providing mechanisms for identity and access management according to organizational policies.
- Service desk support
- Troubleshooting issues
- Managing help desk and creating a help ticketing system.
General Requirements:
- 3 years' experience in a supervision/management role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, IT or a related field.
- Practical experience installing and maintaining systems
- Communication skills required.
- Commitment to finding solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
